Meet Jerad Larkin, the official photographer for the DU Vin Festival:

Hi! I’m from Saratoga Springs, NY, but now live in Denver after falling in love with it freshman year at DU. My hobbies include skiing, real estate, planning events, and filming and editing video. When I’m not inside the classroom I usually have a video camera in my hand, because I really enjoy the concept of creating memories that will last a lifetime.

My most memorable wine experience took place for a period of 4 months while I was studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain. Before studying abroad, I never gave wine a real chance. Spain helped shift my comfort of ordering typical mixed drinks and beer to something new – and also at an incredibly cheap price! My friends and I used to buy bottles of wine for about 3 euros and then hang out on the beach all day. I’m no wine pro but I’m definitely starting to learn!

Feel free to check out my work at www.jeradlarkin.com.

These talented student professionals are in the process of planning, executing and coordinating all aspects of the event with the guidance of professionals in the food, wine and hospitality industry. They are using their event management skills honed from previous classroom and work experience to execute such a fine operation. From analyzing the target market to developing sales techniques, to deciding the food and wine pairings to recruiting and staffing other talented KSHM students, the management team is planning every aspect from beginning to end. The students have also incorporated sustainable living into this event by using recyclable and biodegradable products, locally grown food products, and eco-friendly cleaning materials.

This process is an excellent hands-on learning opportunity that will enable these talented students to showcase the valuable skills they have learned over the past four years. By generating funds for the KSHM scholarships, this festival will provide future KSHM students with more exciting growth opportunities in their fields of endeavor. Please stay tuned for further updates!
